The Driver Leader is a Black Templars Dreadnought, a fearsome war machine that marches its armored carapace into war on two massive legs. It is able to inflict immeasurable devastation upon the enemy, when used properly. However, its high points cost means that you likely get only one spawn per round. Also, the Dreadnought is a large and slow-moving target, and is unable to access many of the smaller areas of the maps it is available on. Still, in terms of sheer firepower, its Assault Cannon and Rocket Launcher are hard to top. The primary fire button fires the Dreadnought’s Assault Cannon: a bigger version of the Terminator’s gun, a rapid fire machine gun with a huge supply of ammo and a great deal of recoil. This weapon is primarily useful for close range targets, or when you do not want to risk hitting an ally with the Rocket Launcher. The secondary fire button is the Rocket Launcher, a fast-firing rocket pod with 50 rounds. There is something of a spread to the rockets, in that they rarely hit “dead-on” where you aimed, but it is good for blanketing an area in explosions. Because the Dread is such a big, slow target, it is advisable to keep moving while you attack.

Black Templar Drivers who are not the leader are normal marines in most aspects. The main difference is in two pieces of wargear they are allowed to buy: all non-leader Drivers are able to buy Chainsword + Bolt Pistol, and more importantly, all non-leader Drivers are able to buy a Bike with Bolters. The Black Templar Bike is a speedy motorcycle that enhances its rider’s health somewhat, and provides fast transportation around the map. In addition, it has an attached set of twin-linked Bolters, which benefit from a fairly low recoil, thanks to the stability offered by being vehicle-mounted. To get on and off your Bike (and only YOUR Bike), use the “Special Move” key when close by.
